I’ve heard this a lot from friends and clients. How much do you think the five dishes above cost??? (Keep reading below to find out!)

🍗 protein: “shawarma” spiced chicken thighs
🍃veg: roasted red peppers, zucchini, red onion
🍚 carb: multi colour quinoa “tabbouleh” (parsley, evoo, cucumber, tomato, lemon juice)

protein: sirloin steak with rosemary
veg: 5 min roasted asparagus and sautéed mushrooms
carb: garlic roasted preschoice mini potatoes
A lot of you guys have asked me about the price of my meal preps. When calculated per portion, these 5 dishes here probably cost in total ~$15-$18. But what you see here isn’t all! There were at least 3 portions of the right dish and 2 portions of the other dish left, that are saved for dinners.
How to save? Here are just a few of my tips:
🔘Buy meat in bulk and when on sale. Divide in portions you will use and freeze. Defrost when needed.
🔘Buy seasonal vegetables (they’ll not only be cheaper, but they’ll be fresher, and supporting local farms!)
🔘For carbs, look out on what’s on sale and buy in bulk too! Quinoa is definitely more expensive and while moderately more nutrient dense than rice, I don’t buy it unless it’s on sale. (It’s not worth the extra $$ because I get my protein from other sources like animal meat, beans, and yogurt).
🔘Portion size to reduce food waste and make the food last longer. The portions above are meant for an active, adult male. If you’re smaller or require different energy levels, you can adjust to your need.
🔘Price match!! In Ontario at least, places like Wal-mart, Food Basics and NoFrills match prices with competitors. It saves you a few dollars each week, but that adds up!
